Compufit.co.uk’s Terms and Conditions

Please read carefully before using our service!

 

GENERAL Estimates from Compufit.co.uk for your unit are provided at no cost to you. Yes your estimate is FREE! You do have the right to deny or refuse the estimate and service from Compufit.co.uk and pick up your unit within the 7 days noted below. If you accept the estimate and wish to have your unit repaired you are entering into a service agreement with Compufit.co.uk and must abide by the following conditions:

If it is expected that additional parts are required in addition to those quoted, you will be contacted with an estimate. If you do not wish to proceed at this point you have the right to cancel the repair work within 7 working days. In this case you will only be charged the inspection fee of £19 (PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360) plus the cost of postage and packing along with any other costs incurred by Compufit. All cancellation requests must be made before repair work is commenced. If the repair work has already commenced, you may not cancel the repair work. Until payment is received in full, Compufit reserves the right to withhold your PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360, or any other type of equipment. If after 60 days of repairing your PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360, or any other type of equipment, payment has still not been received, Compufit are authorised to sell the PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360, or any other type of equipment (or do with it as they see fit) in order to redeem losses.

COMPUTER MAINTENANCE: It is very risky in terms of keeping your data safe. Prior to having your computer serviced by Compufit, it is highly recommended you save and back-up all of your important files before any work takes place. If you are unable to make a back-up of your files, then we can do it for you. Regardless of any computer repair or upgrade, Compufit.co.uk and its associates are not liable for any loss of data or any damage resulting in loss of data. We are not responsible for any additional work that may occur whilst in possession of your computer. Compufit takes pride in their work. We use the latest technology and diagnostic tools to ensure your computer is serviced quickly and in a timely manner. It is your responsibility to assess the affect of our services on any manufacturer's warranty and take appropriate action. We cannot be held responsible or liable to you in relation to any service regarding: any loss or corruption of data, information or records; any loss of goodwill or any loss of (or interruption to) business or contracts, any failure by you to follow our reasonable advice, recommendations or instructions, any losses you may suffer arising from your use (or failure to use) any anti-virus software, and any loss that is not reasonably foreseeable.

PAYMENTS: Until payment is received in full, Compufit reserves the right to withhold your PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360, or any other type of equipment in for repair. If after 60 days of repairing your PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360, or any other equipment & payment has still not been received, Compufit are authorised to sell the PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360, or any other type of equipment (or do with it as they see fit) in order to redeem losses. Payment for any type of part is required in advance before the repair work is carried out with any PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360, or any other type of equipment. If the customer pays by cheque or BAKS, the customer must wait until the cheque is completely cleared by the bank. You may pay by credit or debit card if the technician if we decide to agree to this. In some cases it may be necessary to outsource your equipment to a trusted associate. Additional cost may occur and will be discussed with the customer either via phone or email.

 

REFUNDS: You agree that the staff of Compufit.co.uk ('the executives') will only grant refunds in exceptional circumstances within 30 days of payment. The executives reserve the right to make a decision on what is deemed to be an exceptional circumstance with full interaction with you. By completing your order and making payment, you do so assuming that any software has been fully evaluated to meet your needs. Opened software cannot be returned for refund unless faulty or damaged. Any service purchased that involves expressing involvement of staff members such as software installation, repair, upgrade or technical support cannot be refunded. The only exception to this is if the installation, repair or upgrade service was never carried out and that the payment was made within 30 days of a refund request.

WARRANTY: A warranty for new parts is covered by the manufacturer. Used parts only have a limited Warranty of 6 weeks, after this time an exchange or refund cannot be offered to the customer. The PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360, or any other of equipment is covered by a 90 day warranty providing the security sticker has not been removed or damaged. Tampered stickers will void all warranty and repeat repairs will be charged at the standard fee. Any Software installations, upgrade or a change on any PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360 that can be altered, do not have a warranty as they are expected to work upon delivery. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they work correctly while the technician is still on site. Once the technician has left your premises, a customer may not insist on a conclusion to the work that was already carried out. Warranty applies to previously repaired faults only; Compufit do not take responsibility for unrelated faults on the same PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox360, or any other type of equipment. Please be aware that during the course of repair it is possible that the symptoms may worsen whilst investigating the fault. Compufit do not take responsibility for additional faults which occur during investigation nor will they be held responsible.

REMOTE REPAIR SERVICE: You must be at least 18 years of age to use this service. Compufit.co.uk and its employees will not be held responsible for any technical or mechanical fault that may occur while using this service. Compufit.co.uk is not liable for any data lost or damage resulting in lost data. We advise you to follow any instructions given to you by Compufit.co.uk’s remote support team whilst on the telephone, Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) or Tech Chat. Please be aware that by opening the following programme: Compufit Remote.exe, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. By using this service you are entering into an agreement between you, the customer, and Compufit.

REMOTE SERVICE PAYMENT TERMS: Please note we will take your full details including name, address and telephone number before we begin the Remote Repair Service. This service is no fix, no fee. Payment will be taken after the service has been completed successfully. Please be aware that your Remote Repair Service will be recorded and evaluated if required. We ensure that any data is not stored by Compufit.co.uk and guarantee data protection (please read our Privacy Policy for more information on data protection). Please note that Compufit.co.uk will log your IP address and in any attempt to manipulate or tamper with the Remote Repair Service will be followed by legal action. Do not make the attempt to use the Remote Repair Service if you do not have the sufficient funds. Only registered users are able to use this service. For more information please call 0161-408 4019 and arrange your Compufit.co.uk Remote Support. You will be quoted the price of the service before we go ahead and you agree to make a payment once the service is successfully completed. In some circumstance the price may go up if the repair differs from the original check in receipt.

CANCELLATION FEES: Orders of parts or systems can be cancelled with a full refund if a cancellation is made within 24 hours of placing your order and your goods have not already been delivered. After 24 hours if the goods have not been delivered the cancellation fee is 50% of the order value.

DIAGNOSTIC FEE: Compufit operates a No-Fix No-Fee policy. This works very simply, our engineer will fix or diagnose the fault on your pc, laptop, game console or device or you pay nothing. On rare occasions we can only offer a diagnosis for the fault as the fix is just not economically viable for the pc, laptop, game console or device. If we can establish what the problem is but you decide not to go ahead with the repair/fix you will still be charged a diagnostic fee of £19.00. Some problems like virus removal can be very lengthy and can be cheaper for you if the PC is repaired at our one of our workshops, this will only ever be done with your approval.

PREVIOUS REPAIR: We reserve the right to refuse or deny any repair at our discretion. If your unit has been repaired by a previous repair shop it may still be covered under their warranty. It is your responsibility to determine if your unit is covered by the manufacture or another repair shop. It is also required for you to report this to our technicians when we check in your pc, laptop, game console or device.

CHECK-IN RECEIPT: Your signature authorizes that we may open your system, voiding any warranty covered by the manufacture to provide an estimate of work needed to be performed. This form must be signed and dated at time of collection or drop off for Compufit.co.uk to be authorized to repair your pc, laptop, game console or device.

STORAGE FEES: Most estimates are provided within 1-3 days of receipt of unit. In rare cases, repairs may take up to 30 days to complete. Most delays in repair times are dependent on the availability of repair parts. Estimates will be provided before any work is performed and completed. If you denied the repair to be performed on your unit, you have 30 days to pick up your unit or storage fees will be applied each day it remains in the repair facility. Storage fees are £10.00 per day. After sixty (60) days of your unit not being picked up it will be considered abandoned and will be sold for the cost of the storage fees. Compufit.co.uk is not responsible for your unit after the 60 days. Your unit will not be replaced. You will not be reimbursed for the unit. This applies to a pc, laptop, game console or any other device.

DELIVERY: Please note we cannot be held responsible for delays on delivery of products imposed by the suppliers or manufacturers. If for any reason the due date cannot be met, we will always inform you by telephone. Delivery times are estimates only and whilst we will try to deliver when estimated, we cannot accept responsibility for late delivery. If we do deliver late you are not entitled to regard this as a breach of contract. You acknowledge that if your equipment remains undelivered after a period of 6 (six) weeks (by fault of your own) on job completion whether or not a successful repair was made, then Compufit.co.uk reserve the right to sell your equipment as recompense. We reserve the right to refuse or deny any repair at our discretion. If your unit has been repaired by a previous repair shop before, it may still be covered under their warranty. It is your responsibility to determine if your unit is covered by the manufacturer or another repair shop.

APPOINTMENTS MADE WITH COMPUFIT.CO.UK: There will be a £10.00 charge if you are not present at a pre-arranged appointment to repair your equipment, collect your equipment or return your equipment. Please give us plenty of notice if you unable to meet this appointment.

ABUSE OF STAFF In order to ensure that all customers receive the service that they need, it is essential that our technicians are able to work without fear of attack, abuse or harassment. Compufit.co.uk views its staff as its most valuable asset and therefore any abuse to those staff is totally unacceptable. The staff is encouraged to report all incidents of harassment and violence. Police assistance will always be requested when violent incidents occur and Compufit.co.uk will support staff that wish to bring private prosecutions against the perpetration of physical abuse. Compufit.co.uk will also consider taking action against those who deliberately damage Compufit.co.uk's equipment or property. We therefore ask for your co-operation in making sure that Compufit.co.uk remains to deliver an excellent service.
